Have a connector on my dirt bike that one of the wires broke off....any ideas how this female pin comes out??

I have one of those hollow barrel tools but it doesn't fit over the female pin.
Anyone recommend a set that can get most of the standard connectors apart?

I know the spades and males usually have a small tang to depress then you can get the pin out.....there's no space to see where it would be.

Also would the pin push in from the wire side, it looks like there might be plastic preventing that.

    thanks!!!

I bought this set years ago and have not been able to use any of them on the Tacoma. I do think there would be one to fit the round one you are working on. Cheap too. However, post #2 quality is much better.

Another option is to pick up a brass tube from the hardware store or hobby shop of the correct diameter.

Thanks for that, and that none have worked on the taco.

Yeah, I was very disappointed in the sizes, stiffness and quality. But there was a good selection of the round ones as shown in one of the pictures with the sizes on the Amazon webpage.

The green tool is for weatherpack. The connector looks like maybe molex to me? @Puppypunter might recognize it. You need something like the green only a different size. Then once you punch that in the face, it pulls out from the backside.

Thanks for the clarification on that.
The other bonus is the wire broke off so it’ll be a pita to pull out.

Are the weather pack connectors the ones with the rubber inserts inside?

Fyi-- I work in truck upfitting( brands include any 1/2-ton pickup or semi chassis from western star, international, etc.) and bought that same kit.

After a year of trying to use it numerous times and it failing to either fit dimensionally, or failing due poor material, I took it home and dropped it in the metal scrap pile.

These however are awesome. They don't intentionally work on round pins like the original post. But any other pin style, they work, and I've never broken one yet. As daveeasa noted, there's really only. Two tabs holding the pin in place, and I have used these tools to press the tabs inward, but it's far more of a hassle and work around than the proper tool.

Main keywords are 'wire dismount tool'

Otherwise, the JReady, or icrimp brands on Amazon are another couple of tools of excellent quality that work well. These are for Deutsch or weather pack, but can be forcibly used to extract molex if needed.

Thanks so much for all of that great info!!
I’ll order the ones you and Dave mentioned.

If only that connector was a weatherpack the wire probably never would have broke.

You and I seemed to have been down the same procurement journey. I also have all the products (and more) your links provided, except the last as I no longer use any round contact type connectors. They seemed to have gone out of style.

Started years ago with the Amp Sub-miniature crimping and depinning: Types of D-Sub Connectors | TE Connectivity

Have you had any luck with the 0.025"/.64MM unsealed and sealed connectors on our trucks? An example would be the smallest pins on the engine compartment fuse box connectors. That is the only remaining unsealed pin type I still struggle with; haven't yet tried my luck with the Sealed 0.025"/.64MM connectors, such as the BSM which I will eventually get into. All the others on our trucks I've mastered.
