    Hey!
I had my front dash apart recently to clean some rodent nests out of my a/c system, (the truck had sat broken down for almost two years before i bought it and put it back on the road)
Anyways I may have been a little over zealous in cleaning of everything as i ended up cleaning the inside of the control cluster and bumped the gas gauge needle. Its reading is a quarter tank off now.

Any tips on how i might be able to fix this? I've tried just pushing it back to the correct spot, and it seems to fix it at first but then goes back to the way it was before.
Any tips or idea would be much appreciated.

    Nevermind. I figured it out.

For anyone that doesn't already know, but wants too, there's a stop in the gas gauge, if the needle gets bumped it can screw up the position of the stop. To fix it you can shimmy off the gas needle, I used a forked automotive trim removal tool to do this. With the gas gauge needle exposed there will be enough clearance to rotate the pin until the stop is back where you want it.
