Looking for a diy budget scan tool for my taco, daughters Yaris and wife’s 2016 Lexus.
Recommendation for a decent priced version I can carry to check and clear lights when needed.

Would prefer one that did it all if less than a few hundred.
If not a basic will work.

Have a read through the thread I linked above and have a look at the current offerings, scan tool offerings change constantly and it's hard to keep up with what's out there, what's good, and what's not good.

You may find that one of the smartphone based ones like the TopDon TopScan or ThinkTool ThinkDiag may fit your needs, they are subscription based but are very affordable.

Get a few candidates together to consider and I'd be happy to take a look and give you my recommendation.

I have an OBDLink LX that's works well for my needs. Connects to your phone via Bluetooth. It can read and clear codes. Depending on the vehicle, it can get other data like tire pressure and other things. It can also be used with other apps for monitoring data with Torque, or customizing settings with Carista. And it's tiny, so I can just leave it connected to the OBD port (won't drain the battery), or leave it in the vehicle somewhere so it's always with me.
