Monster torque for displacement size. Almost double what a gasser can get of comparable size. Great mileage. Sound badass. Engines are generally over engineered so they tend to last longer without breaking than a gas engine. Diesel has better lubricating properties then gas so it's less harsh on the engine. No spark plugs. Can be run for long periods of time including idle without being bad for the engine.

Downside, slow to rev, turbo lag (BOO!), diesel not as available as gasoline, higher costs of servicing. If a diesel runs out of gas it's far harder to get it running again then a gas engine. You can't just put gas in the tank and cranker the starter. You have to prime the combustion chambers. By hand.

That's all I can think of at 3 in the morning.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I was waiting for Mihandra to get their product stateside specifically because of the diesel. Their delays combined with the issues with my truck forced me to replace it early, so I have a Tacoma now.

If the price was right and could trade my Tacoma in without too much of a loss, then yes, I'd go for it.

    fuck a diesel

    horrendus upkeep costs
    more expensive initally
gas is more expensive (yes i know they supposedly get better mileage, but on real world with full size trucks, not always and the 8k option of the diesel isnt worth it)
