    Hi all,
Happy to be joining this community. Just landed a 2025 Tacoma trail hunter. Love the looks of the bar on the back but that will limit use of a bed cover. Wondering if people have any other ideas for secure storage for golf/camping equipment that is also protected from the elements.
    Thanks!

I've owned a truck since 1976. Put a cap on every one of them. I've driven to or though 45 of the lower 48 states and 2 provinces of Canada camping and hunting with my gear locked in the bed. The tonneau covers just get in the way. You can't put much under them and it's hard to get to stuff that you can. Tool and storage boxes are very limited. Lose the bar and buy a cap for it.

Unlike an SUV I can still haul dirty stuff back there and hose it out. A truck + the cost of a cap is still cheaper than a comparable SUV.

You're not going to haul anything of any size or weight in a Tacoma anyway. That's what the utility trailer is for.

Thanks for the ideas. I saw rough country sells a box for end of the truck bed near the tailgate for convenience but the ones they make for midsize trucks do not have a locking lid to my knowledge. Still on the hunt.
