    @nzbrock
    GREAT info here. Thanks. Question:

    I have a 2004 V6 Prerunner with no lift. Looking to soften ride a bit. Rarely carry any weight.

    Based on your research above, I am looking at getting the following:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I97UXFS
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EIES3DU

    Does this seem right to you?

    Those would be for 1.5-2" of lift.

    For no lift I would just go with two of these if you wanted 5100s:
    8 Inch Travel -----------------------------------------
    Part Number: 33-230313
    Valving: 170/60
    Travel: 8.00 Inch
    Extended Length: 21.70
    Collapsed Length: 13.70
    Mount Type/Size: 5/8" ID bushing
    Link: https://amzn.to/3YWZcOV

    With those you many need to extend your bump stops by about an inch so the shocks don't bottom out. You'd need to cycle them to be sure though.

    You could also get the 4600 stock replacements:
    Driver side: 24-184960 https://amzn.to/3FIEYDX
    Passenger side: 24-184977 https://amzn.to/3ZMc78w

    I believe the 4600 are softer dampening than the 255/70 of the "standard" 5100, but I am not positive on that.

    @nzbrock

    I went with the 4600 stock replacements on the back and am happy with them. Improved and softened the ride.

    Any thoughts on the fronts - shock/struts?

    Not looking to spend a ton. Bilsteins up front seems to be very pricy. Any suggestions for shock strut all in ones that are decent and have a good ride?

    I will have to defer to others on lower cost options for the front. I went with Sway-A-Way coilovers back when they were still a company and recently had them rebuilt after 60k miles.

    If you’re looking at inexpensive coilovers, consider KYB

    Thanks all. Last question - money aside, what front struts would give the best ride - bilsteins?
