I don’t have any tips but I would love to see pics, video, etc. - follow your journey.

Do you have a Starlink to stay in touch with the world? Going solo sounds risky.

I've done it from Christmas Valley up to the end in Hood River. It's an easy route, basically all gravel/forest roads. The most challenging sections in the main route are a portion of section 4 before three creek lake, and section 6 by Hood. All easily passible with even a stock rig. In terms of the alt routes, cache mountain was a little narrow and will result in plenty of oregon pinstripes. Ollalie lake is a little rocky and rough but not too bad. Would recommend Olallie lake route, when I went through it had a major wasteland vibe from the fire.

You just talking the Oregon one, or Cali and WA as well?

EDIT: Nevermind... I see you said Oregon lol.

We are doing the entire thing.. WA/OR/NCALI/SCALI in OCT.. I'll expect some crappy weather up north, but working south it should get better..

Main problem I could see is fire closures. Just keep an eye on those. May have to bypass sections. Even if fires are out, they often shut down roads and don't reopen them til the following season.

Make sure you plan to camp on Bethel Ridge in WA. It's one of my favorite spots. I usually just drive up there and camp a few days rather than running any more of the BDR, lol.

copy that.. Bethel Ridge!! This is the info I am looking for!! Always fires!! Every stinking year!! We plan to just have fun, if we have to hit some pavement we are up for that.. I'm on sabbatical for 6 weeks, unless Intel decides to let me go in this round of layoffs.. :annoyed:

Here in WA, there's a good bit of pavement in areas. Makes it easy to run in and get gas or a meal. Again, not acquainted with others, but I hear ours is one of the least technical BDRs. I've done 2 a couple times, and 3 multiple. Built the truck to do them, but then found we preferred just parking in one place with a view and camping versus driving every day, lol.

    I hope y'all have a great time!
