Did a proper shake-down run today. I’ll be at Rubithon in two weeks, anyone else on here going?

Anyone been following the build videos for the MarTec 1st gen 3 link kit development?
Should retail for $4k and discount for preorders.

Looks like a good option for those of us without plasma tables and benders. Although designed around d60

I’ve been watching the videos. I really like the time and effort he seems to put into it. Looks like it would be a relatively drama free install that would work really well.

It does look like you would have to be pretty wide because the lowers are spaced out quite far. Fine with the superduty axle it’s designed for though.

Why not, it looks like a wedge shim that's taking out caster? Which within reason, is hard to have too much of on a crawler.

IMG_2429.jpgI made a couple gaskets out of a beer box, stacked em and solved my issue..
My wife suggested making gaskets out of leather then light grease them, so ya don’t have to wreck them everytime I pull the dials off.

Yeah, the shims actually were a first attempt to stop DS from tearing the TC apart before going to a double cardon joint. I have about 10 degrees of caster without any shimmage which cause the pinion to point downwards a couple degrees. Not the end of the world by any means.

So can you pull them or no? Or just cut off and reweld your spring perches. I'd be sketched out running a shim that large in the front axle and breaking/skipping a centering pin. Not to mention the issues with clearing the tie rod.

I can do whatever I want because I'm a real boy.

In all seriousness, I certainly can can run without them. I would have already cut off the perches and fixed the issue correctly but trail gear does the most over kill gusseting on the driver side that is going to be a major pain in the ass to plasma cut off.

This is all caused by the fact that I just had to French the hangers into the frame because God forbid the truck sat an inch or 2 taller... Lesson learned, if you French the front get creative and find a way to move the rear hanger up higher too.

That is the one thing that makes it a challenge, that and the offset knuckle ball to axle tube mount. Otherwise a cut and rotate would be helpful too.
