So I visited wharton forest by south and there was a sign that had NJ laws about tires..

All of them stated all terrain is required to drive for the trail i was looking at, although it looked as simple as civic could drive there.

I can't find anything about it online, does anyone know? I have SR5 4X4 firestone destination tires, is this same for all of NJ or just wharton forest has this restriction?

    Thanks

The sign at Wharton State Forest is likely a local regulation, not a NJ-wide law. The NJDEP has been cracking down on off-road use in that area to prevent environmental damage. While the trail may look easy, some are marked as requiring all-terrain (A/T) tires for conservation and safety reasons.

M+S (Mud and Snow) tires aren’t the same as A/T tires. M+S is a general highway designation and doesn’t guarantee off-road capability. If your Firestone Destination tires are the A/T version, you're probably fine. If they're just highway M+S, the restriction might still apply. It’s specific to Wharton, not all of NJ.
