2003 Tacoma Belt squeaks when AC is on.

    Can somebody help me figure out what to do. When my truck is running and I turn on my AC the belt that is connected to the AC compressor spins and then catches and makes a very loud squeak. It skips and then goes back to normal.

    Typically……like 70% of the time….tightening belt tension solves the issue

    The belt tensioner is down at the bottom of the engine bay. Here’s a video showing how to adjust it at 24:00.

    If that doesn’t work, remove the belt and inspect it for wear and inspect the pulley.
