Great mod, thank you OP and template makers!

    Purchased this for $42:
    Nitrile Commercial Grade Rubber Sheet, Black, 60A, 0.093" x 36" x 48"
Visit the Rubber-Cal Store. NBR rubber with high resistances to oils, ozone, moisture, impacts, and abrasion.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6NMTT4J

Printed template on plotter paper at copy shop for $6 each x 2 each.
    Template takes up about 16" x 42"
Gave it to my QA/QC team for inspection.
Lightly sprayed 3M adhesive and smoothed out on sheet.
Cut out with new blade on utility knife. The rubber offers just enough resistance to smoothly fair the curves freehand very easily. Scissors were much harder to use.
I have an old belt-hole punch for holes, too small. Reamed with 5/16 drill bit.
Of a cheap assortment of plastic autobody fasteners, one style was a reasonable fit. I liked the two-piece inserts more than the one-piece friction.
I added two more fasteners up top, easy to eyeball and push a centerpunch through the rubber.
