How much lift did I get here?

3" Lift w/ 5100's and EMU 882 springs , General Leaf Spring and AAL in rear with 5100. Diff drop, carrier drop, 3 degee axle shims. Trail Gear Tube Bumper. Tundra brake mod.
Also wondering if I need a sway bar spacer Before I go get an alignment.

I’ve been fixing up this old 2001 2.7 L Tacoma I’ve had since I was a young man lol

All the suspension and steering components has been replaced, Upper control arms are from JBA. Extended travel CV axles from rock auto. Has a diff drop, and drive line spacer.

I used 882 springs and 5100 shocks in the front (lowest spring setting). In the back 5100, and Progressive leaf pack along with new HD general spring leafs. Trail gear tube bumper in the front , no winch installed.

I’m using the stock tire size and from top of wheel well, I’m measuring 37 3/4 on the driver side and 38 1/2 on the passenger side off the ground. I really don’t know what I started with. I used ChatGPT and it tells me I have between a 4 inch and 5 inch lift, which was hard to believe. The rear sit about 1.5 inches taller than the front.

My question is how much lift is this? And the only thing left is reinstalling my sway bar, Does it need a drop kit of some kind? This truck will mostly be on the street, But would one day like to take it up some easy trails. Nothing crazy. Stock tires!

After I got it all back together, including new, lower control, arm bushings. The truck drove straight as an arrow, and all of the bump steer was gone.

Every truck is a bit different so it’s hard to say how much lift you actually have without comparing directly to your old setup.

I’m running 265/75/R16 AT4/W’s and my truck sits at about 37.5” with Fox 2.5s up front. I believe I’m at about 2.5” of suspension lift from stock.

That 4-5” that ChatGPT gave you probably includes tire height as well.

I don't think anybody can accurately tell you how much lift you got over your previous setup. Only you could have known, had you measured before and after install of the new suspension. In all honesty I don't know what value that number you're looking for is going to provide anyway.

To answer your other question, no you shouldn't need a sway bar spacer. I've run up to 3" of lift up front without one and had no issues. If you are running more lift than that up front, then you're likely to experience bigger issues than sway bar fittment.

Bigger tires would really look good on that thing.

You can "guestimate," the stock height of the front is between 20 and 22" or so. Mine settled in at 21" stock, 21 1/2" right after front end refresh. Measure from the center of the hub to the underside of the wheel well. So your lift would be anything above 21".

Okay, so my measurement on the driver side is 24" and the passenger side is 24.5". So right about 3" lift. Thank you everyone for the tips!

Do you have a picture of your cv angles? @skycamper

I’m trying to decide on the 881 or 882 for my truck

This is the stock tire size I’m pretty sure so that would make sense

You are right but I’m pretty sure the second number is the width of the tire so should be the same stock height

The first number is the width (in mm), second number is the aspect ratio (AKA % of the width that the sidewall represents - really stupid way to annotate a measurement).

    So a 265/70r16 is smaller than a 265/75r16.

I only have the 2.7 L engine and I don’t have a winch upfront, but I do have that heavy tube bumper. I’ve been spraying the boots with silicone and attempt to prolong their life lol I only drive this truck a few thousand miles each year.

Thanks @skycamper i think I like the idea of the 882 more than the 881 I will get a winch with stock bumper mount soon and want to add more skids. It makes me feel a little more confident seeing your cv angles

@Cascadesubtaco , I was surprised since the inner one is the one that usually goes bad and mine looks fine. Its the outer one rubbing that concerns me. I need to reboot my old ones someday so I have good spares. Easy to change out.

I wouldn't worry much about the outer ones. They don't seem to tear nearly as often. I think its because they're more of a hard-plastic like compound than the inner boots

I wonder if the “extended travel” cv has anything to do with the inner boot rub looking so good

I have same year and everything as you just the v6 instead at 225k
