Older thread but thought I'd start it up again. I recently pickup a used 17' jumping jack blackout and love it. We're definitely not as mobile as the rtt setup but the huge tent and ability to take toys is great for the family and hunting season.

We've been using an ecoflow for a 12v fridge and will most likely pickup a diesel heater soon.

The only thing I don't like are the ultra short stabilizers. The rear barely touches on flat ground and the front jack doesn't offer much on uneven terrain. I plan to weld on some 15" swiveling pipe mount jacks to the rear corners and tounge in the near future.

Looks a lot more capable with the lift and wheel upgrade! Have you had issues with the tires contacting the fenders on bumpy roads or loaded down with weight? Thinking I definitely need to do this to mine.JJ Snow 1.png

I do not load mine up with anymore weight that a few hundred pounds on top.
Full disclosure; the wheels and tire look cool but hurt it offroad more than it helps. The trailer doesn't need additional height. The tire/wheel setup i chose was wrong but there were cheap and the tires were free.
    i went with 16x8 0 offset steelies and 265/75/16s.
The combo doesn't rub but is close to the inner fender. The wheels are too wide for the tires and they are definitely stretched. The real issues is how wide it sticks out past the fender. The trailer tracks over 2' wider than a stock midsize 4x4.
I took it snow wheeling in some pretty bad spring pack and icy trail conditions. The tracking pulled me off the trail several times where i had to winch out.
Realistically, i need some 15x7 wheels and 30x9.5x15 tires.
I mainly changed these for looks and to get some heavier duty tires after i sliced one in Maine. I towed a lot of trailers growing up from equipment trailers to 40' extra wide horse trailers. This is almost dangerous as the trailer sits so far inboard of the tires. It creates a false sense of clearance. At night, the clearance markers are only a reminder that there are tires another 10" out there somewhere. I need to replace the wheel/tire setup with something skinnier that tucks inside the flares.
