I figured I should start a build thread for this trailer, considering I never got around to doing one for my truck. I had every possible combination of RTT / rack / cap possible on my truck which worked with varying levels of success with all of the known trade-offs. By the time our second son was born just 16 months after our first, I knew something had to change. We had too much stuff to fit into the truck to camp comfortably. If I had less time, money, and work invested in my Tacoma, the smartest move would have been to trade it for a Tundra. However, the second smartest move was buying a trailer. The idea of a trailer was mostly a joke at first, but it eventually started to grow on me. The really high end options like Patriot campers were obviously out of the question, but buying a bare frame or box was just too much work for me to handle with two babies at home. I started to watch the classifieds; here, Craiglist, Overlandbound, and Expedition Portal. After almost buying a similar model from a seller in NH, I found this trailer listed on Overlandbound in GA. The seller agreed to meet me halfway in VA and I bought it from him for $8,000. It is a 2005 AT Overland Horizon Trailer. Pictures from the day I got it home:

I have not done many significant additions to it so far. I sold the RTT it came with and removed the rear carrier the previous owner was using. I had a friend remake the bars for the tent so it would sit at the right height for the 23Zero annex room and I added a 72" RTT. Put an Engel MT45 fridge in the back and started using it for the last three years.
