I have wanted a Tacoma for many years & the combination of my wife’s car being close to the end & a reasonably priced Tacoma with all of the features I wanted suddenly appearing made me finally pull the trigger. Ideally, I was hoping for a 2020 or 2021 with all of these features, but I doubt I would have found one I could afford! I know 2016 wasn’t one of the better years, but it’s feeling strong so far, even as we hit the 110+ temps here in Phoenix this week.

Thanks for this resource - I’ll gladly take any advice you can offer. I suspect I’ll be checking in here often for a while!

Congrats dude! I have a SR5 2017 myself, about 4k miles on it since I bought it last Nov, and couldn't be happier. Definitely some growing pains with the beginning of the 3rd gen Tacoma, 2016 and early 2017. If I were you, I'd go and check you're new Tacoma's VIN, make sure all the Recalls and TSB have been completed. From there, depending on maintenance records/history I would get done whatever needs done. From there, it's totally up to you. SooOoo many options for parts and things to change out on these trucks, it really is the owners market and you can add/remove/change just about anything the heart desires. Check around this site, loads of maintenance how-to's and reviews on everything and super friendly and knowledgably people that can and will help you out with questions/concerns. Don't forget to show us that new Tacoma!
