Finally modded my rear diff breather. Ended up putting a filter on it and zip tieing it to the gas filler. It is hidden behind the gas fill trim.
    IMG20250618173628.jpg

Also swapped out my front diff and transfer case fluids and swapped the diff plugs for the Lexus versions. There was a lot of sludge on the diff magnet and both fluids looked a bit dirty. 36,000 miles on the truck so I assume it's mostly initial break in gunk.

Installed this tire mount a few weeks ago for my 285/75/17 spare and it is well designed and easy to install. Only negative was I had to remove the camper shell mount bracket to slide the tire mount into the channel and had to make sure I had the right size socket for tbe lug nuts the kit comes with.IMG_1642.jpg

Few fun and not so fun ones this week:

start with the not so fun: front body mount bushings were destroyed, truck has 29k miles on it, 99.9% of that has been on road so no reason for these to be decimated already. Replaced with Energy Suspension setup 9.4102G. Riding way smoother and no clunking over small potholes in the front end. If you look close at the OEM metal bushing sleeve, you can see either the frame or the body was grinding a divot out of the sleeve itself, pretty crazy for a measly under 30k miles.

fun! Pulled the trigger on a set of 295/70/17 tires, Milestar Patagonia XTs, they are SO quiet compared to the AT4Ws and have been great in the rain so far, highly recommend. Looks speak for themselves, definitely need a brake pad and rotor upgrade with the extra heft lol.

That is nuts. From the looks of it I would guess they weren't properly tightened down. The off-roads even have beefier bushings than the other trims.

They seemed tight "enough" although I have no idea or frame of reference what that should be. I really couldn't figure out what this clunk was in the front end until I just happened to see the original bushing sitting all cockeyed in the frame bucket, so I tore it down and discovered that wear scar. This whole time I just assumed it was something I didn't properly torque down with one of my 4 suspension setups I've swapped lol. Still ridiculous on such low mileage on a road driven truck.

No these are the front body mounts, basically on either side of the radiator. Easy to see on my truck with the C4 bumper, but a lot more hidden if you've still got the plastic bumper. Energy Suspensions makes a full body mount kit, but I just swapped the front ones for now and left the cab mounts alone. They are chopped to fit the tires but the rubber mounts themselves seem fine so far.

Out with the old, in with the new. Morimoto Evo Hybrid headlights paired with the Diodide Dynamics Elite Series Fog lights. Ordering a jumper harness from Diodide to get the Fogs backlight feature running.

Wait you’re saying OR has different body mount bushings than other trims? I would never in a million years have guessed that. Seems like a very odd part to have different designs for.

Yes I had to do the same and remove my shell mount. I do wish the bracket threads were longer as well to thread more, I don't have any thread showing. It's a solid mount!

Just need to get them aimed, they appear to be lower than what they should be.

Yeah the OR has lots of little differences. Over the years it has had beefed up versions of various parts. I am not certain if it is all of the body mount bushings or just the rear but part of the diff wine TSB involves replacing the regular body mount parts with the OR trim version. I guess they isolate the vibration better. Also the TSB leaf springs were the ones that the OR already had. Lots of problems seem to have been solved over the years by throwing OR trim parts at them.
