I changed the resistor and the blower motor, and I still cannot get my AC to function between low and medium. It works on high only. I’m out of ideas as the symptoms I read it should have been the resistor…The plug to the blower motor doesn’t look fried. I’m out of ideas…please help

Look at the connector pins for both the resistor and the motor; do any look corroded/burnt? If so, pull them out and sand them clean.

    Have you checked the switch?

How do you test the switch? I have a multimeter but not really sure how to use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would be good to identify which resistor you changed to. I had got the first "updated" resistor and connector pigtail 10 years ago (pins all in a row) and the new resistor didn't work with the pigtail which could have had to do with how it was wired, but my old resistor worked with the updated pigtail so I just stuck with it.

This year I finally got tired of smacking my dash to get the pins to connect so I switched to the newer updated resistor and pigtail and haven't had any problems since and don't anticipate having any anymore.

PS if your fan works on high, it's working fine. It's all about the power being fed to it that is the problem.

I posted the connector pinout with specs right above your post.

I tried a different resistor and now it’s blowing on high at all speeds on the control panel. It will turn off in the “off” position but as soon it I put it on”low” it blows at high speed. Something has changed…?? basically cannot modulate the speed

Are you sure you have the resistor wired correctly?

Ok, I’ll try that. Thank you for your help. If that doesn’t work I’m going to bite the bullet and take it in.
