So I am trying to activate my WiFi after getting a new radio. I plugged my stock radio in and got the setting all configured and tested by turning truck off and back on and WiFi starts automatically. However there are a few plugs disconnected and I am not sure if this is what’s causing the WiFi not to start up. Any help with what these plugs do on my oem radio I would appreciate thank you.IMG_5048.jpg IMG_5049.jpg IMG_5050.jpg

I think there's another thread about this and the realization was that the WiFi module is in the radio. Not sure if that's right or not but I think that's where that thread landed

Or at least, it requires the radio

From my research the WiFi is in the radio on the early gen 3 Tacomas. Mine is a 2021 and I believe they are in the dcm. I could be wrong but from my research it seemed that the sos and WiFi hardware is in the dcm but it could be possible that the radio is needed to activate it once truck turns on. I feel like I am so close and no lie I will tear this radio apart to just get to the boards so I can get it to work however that might be a lost cause too

Just to cover the dumb question, could you just get a standalone hotspot? Or use the phone hotspot?

Valid question, and I use my phone hotspot but I have to initiate this and press a few buttons. It not bad but if my car just booted up the $10 WiFi my radio will always connect when it boots up.
