    Right rite.

Not sure what to tell you on the jacket thing, but can respect it though. I have a sticker of my first combat patch on the heep. Wifey and a few friends were adamant about me getting a license plate too. I finally broke down a couple years ago a made them happy, but still think of removing it at times because it’s not my thing. but hey… it can’t always be about me, right?.

When we were doing the WMST class for permits, the teacher told folks to bring in their gear so could talk about it in class. Someone brought their bilt gloves and he said you might as well have bought cheap mechanic gloves at home depot, then he compared it to someone else who had some gloves from a more quality brand. He tried to make the person not feel too bad, as any gear is better than none, but highly recommended better when they could afford.

the crazy thing for gloves you can spend 60 bucks which isnt much more then bilt gloves and have a waaay better glove. i get it for jackets and shoes since they are so much cheaper but ya know cheap doesnt always mean good.

i will say bilt had some cool looking riding shoes that looked like converse buuuut the reviews are not good on them at all! they shred damn near instantly on contact to ground it seems. instead i just get a set of leather work boots from my work every year so free boots lmao. minus my forma adventure boots.
haha dont worry i wont forget! maybe one fo these days ill come down there to ride with ya and slap it on with ya lmao

I've never been any farther West than Moab....but the South heat is just different. I swear during the dog days of summer it like breathing in at an open oven

I've experienced the dry 110 degrees in the SW, and the disgusting 95 degree temps in Atlanta. Definitely happy not to deal with that up here. It is a bummer that the first day of summer is only meh, here.

A few practical changes I could have made: Worn my clear visor with sunglasses, waxed my visor so it repelled the rain, brought a long sleeve Under Armour type shirt, and perhaps most importantly, stay closer to home when the weather has been unpredictable for the last month or two!

that sure doesn't sound like a good time.

ive used a transitions visor for a long time. it comes in handy when the weather changes unexpectedly.

I almost always wear a waterproof jacket unless it's almost 100% going to be sunny and hot. wet and cold is never a good time.

ride long enough and everyone gets caught in these crappy situations.

I've been nervous/anxious plenty of times before. This was the first time I was legit scared (other than that time I got pulled over for going waaaay too fast ). It was like riding in a waterfall tunnel with no light other than two red blobs to guide me @ 40 mph...

I'll look into the transition visor, sounds like a worthwhile investment!

that sounds miserable, but I'm sure it was a good learning experience.

There's been a few times I got caught out unexpectedly, in summer gear only to get downpoured on. Once running an errand for work, by the time I got home 2 hours later I was soaked head to toe and pouring water out of my boots. Another time, I got dinner with a friend, and the marine layer settled in before I went home in the dark. Couldn't see more than 100ft ahead or behind me, the entire 20mi ride home. Thick vog, visor misting bad enough it looked like rain. Almost took out a fellow motorcyclist while changing lanes because I couldn't see his headlight coming up until it was too close for comfort. that was a scary ride.

Also countless times weather says it'll be clear only for me to get a quick downpour on the way to work in one specific valley that always seems to be the culprit.

Had the day off yesterday, and went for a ride to get some pie. Perfect weather, maybe even a bit warm. One of the riders is the guy I sold the BMW to. He’s still got it going, which is nice to see.

Started working on the Klx wheel to make them tubeless. Got the tires off, wheels cleaned, spokes polished, scuffed and ready to seal. The 3m 5200 should be here in an hour or so. That will give me time to get them sealed and let them sit for 24hours before I install the tires. I weighed the tires and the new front is 1/4 lb lighter and the rear is about 1.5lbs lighter. Not a bad weight savings. I weighed the original tube tires and wheels and tires and got 27lbs for the rear and 21 for the front. I will weigh them again after they are sealed and new tires installed. Not expecting much just wanted to know.
