Just good boots was fine for us but if balance isn’t good your feet are gonna be sliding around

Just To the waterfall is probably 65% snow in patches like the picture. Cleared up above the trees up top around 9700 feet
    IMG_7978.jpg

Later in the day got pretty slushy and was definitely harder to keep a foothold on the way down

one of my friends was just in some basic tennis shoes and was slipping a bit so probably depends how capable your kiddo is

That looks awesome but a bit much for the kiddo (he’s 6, not used to hiking on snow yet). We ended up goin to frog lake on the relay fire road which had some patches of snow to keep it interesting and fun for him. Frogs were goin nuts.

Good area. I need to aimlessly explore out there more before I go. That and Sierra buttes fire lookout still on my list

That's awesome. Haven't been there in a while since they instituted all the parking restrictions, but It was always one of our favorite spots.

Free: Ryobi 2 stroke weedeater. Needs the carb cleaned and probably a new spark plug, but it runs fine if you put some go-juice into the carb and warm it up. Let me know if you want it or I'm putting it on the curb with with a free sign on it.

Took my mountain bike tailgate cover off, and looks like I left it on for too long after off-roading with it. Some dirt is pretty baked into the paint now.

anyone have experience with Any places in town that do paint corrections? Really only want the tailgate done. The rest of the truck ain’t perfect but good enough. Did a solid wash. Don’t want to buy stuff to do it myself though while I’m trying to get rid of stuff and consolidate before moving

Jeep's getting there little by little.

So far I've put on a Metalcloak 2.5" true dual rate lift, RockSport shocks / steering stablizer, and some Quadratec sliders (don't sleep on these, I had them on my TJ and they're damn good for the money).

Lots of interior nonsense, tools, gadgets, seatcovers, and whatnot.

    On the list still:

Metal fender flares, rear bumper with tire carrier, replace control arms with Metalcloak (staying mid-arm with this build.) We all about droop, and don't care much for up travel. Low COG.
When the tires wear out, I'll put on true beadlocks and go to something in a 35 x 11.5 instead of the 3.5 x 12's that are on there now.

A bit further out: beef up all the steering and hydro assist. Chromolly axles for the D44s unless I come across a screaming deal on some tons and I'll build those. At that point I'll probably suck it up and go long arm.

Hopes and dreams: LS swap lol

Be out at Moonrocks sometime mid morning tomorrow getting a feel for where I need to set the bumpstops and possibly add limit straps. The Metalcloak springs have a ton of droop on them, and they sometimes like to pop out and go on adventures while you're wheeling really technical stuff

For anyone who's ever complained about how underpowered the 3.5l is in the taco, drive a 3.8l JK with a bunch of shit bolted onto it and get back to me. I've got 5.13 gears pushing 35's and it still doesn't like to go 70mph with 4 people in it

Slot canyon up from Winnemucca ranch road. Wanted to go over the mountain here, but it got too sketchy with just one vehicle and no cell service

Turned around here and headed back north on Winnemucca ranch road

On the way down. Stopped here to look for rocks in the wash off to the right. Found a bunch of Jasper and some petrified wood

83 mile loop door to door from my house. Not 100% accurate, I just sorta drew a yellow line on a maps overlay

Jeep performed well, and you get a helluva lot of biome changes on that route. Forest, burned forest, canyons, wide open desert, a 3' river crossing, and some cow pastures.

A buddy and I were around that area last weekend (webber, lake of the woods and part of the Yuba Pass rd) and there was hardly snow anywhere save for the spots that were always shaded. Didn't go up the entire thing but I imagine it's a similar story. Going back up this coming weekend

I need to get up there.

anyone know if signal peak is doable in my truck? I’d have to go with someone to have spotter+ other vehicle with winch

Edit: saw a pic on Facebook- looks like some tough spots that I’d def not be able to
