I bought what I guess is a shitty one from Amazon. It doesn't rub anything. I always kept my tailgate locked, but worried someone would cut my tonneau cover to see why I had it locked. Never had a problem in 6 years, but ya never know.

You see a lot of products at Amazon from different vendors or brands but they look exactly the same ... even the photos used on their listings are exactly the same ... lol

The Tavaski lock is likely the same as Sobellco sourced from the same factory in China.

While folks are saying they don't plan to remove it, it seems it should be kept operational so it *could* be removed.

Ever have tailgate damage and you'll really have difficulty dealing with it.

SaBellCo is made in USA and machined from 6061 aluminum. Even the lock cylinder they supply is made in USA. The chinese knockoffs are cast zinc.

I suppose peeling the cover off, spraying some silicone and exercising the lock would be helpful. If the tailgate becomes damaged that would be the body shops problem. Also, if it was totaled out I still wouldn't have to deal with it. :notsure:

Was on a week long vacation but here’s a photo for those who care.

You can see on the lock that the paint has been rubbed off. I haven’t had the time, but I’ll run a file down the bed and that should take care of the issue I guess.
