I was wondering what switch are you guys using from AOB if you got one of the 1.25" smaller one for below the 4wd knob in the center?

Unless I am missing something the 2wd low one that they offer is only for the larger spots.

They screwed up the website and made it impossible to find without searching. Searching SW978NB ought to get you where you need, assuming you want the blue that is similar to stock.

Yep, I bought a second one recently and had to dig way back into my old emails from the first purchase to find the number. I probably wouldn’t have been able to find it otherwise.

I had 2L a couple years ago, regeared deeply, sold it and the switch because I no longer needed it. Mainly because I didn’t like how it functioned out of the box, and so when I got the regear it was enough for me to ditch it since I no longer truly needed it.

Then I realized I could fix the things I didn’t like (mostly the error message if you shift back to 2wd before unclicking the switch), so I bought another 2L kit, reworked it to my liking, and then needed a second switch.

Sales of the 2LM harness will end 3/31/2025. I will be retaining some stock to handle installation issues, repairs, and replacements as required. This decision was made based on a number of factors, which I will not get into here. At some point in the future I may resume operation but I can not guarantee it. The website will go offline as of 4/1/2024 and will not be available. If anyone has any questions, you can send me a PM here. While I'm not very active, I do get notifications and I will respond as quickly as I can.

Thank you everyone for your support over the past several years.

Or maybe a schematic so some wiring nerd could duplicate it?

I believe it’s early in the thread, but it’s not just wires, but logic. The originals were bulky and OP worked to make it more manageable. Your best bet is someone removing or didn’t install.

There is no logic to it. It is just a switch actuating a relay to throw numerous circuits at once which bypasses the ADD while making the computer think the ADD is still functioning as designed.

You can build your own 2Lo kit with 4 separate relays and a switch to achieve the same function. Or use a 4 pole relay like in the kit, but the problem is you need to get the factory connectors to plug into the ECU and dash harness and those are hard to find. Maybe @lapoltba can share where he used to get them since his harness is done. I couldn’t find all the pieces I needed.

The kits also included a resistor built in to take the place of the missing ADD motor, but my testing found this to be unnecessary on a 2021, which uses the same computer from 2020-2023 based on trim. So maybe the testing that was done on earlier trucks (2016-2019) found the resistor to be necessary, but I definitely didn’t need it and I have done plenty of testing to confirm that.

By logic, i meant more than just a wiring harness… requires a logical solution.

I mean yes, but ultimately it is just a relay built into a wiring harness. Still pretty simple. I’d be interested in helping make them for people but I still don’t know where to get one of the connectors from and I don’t really have the time for it anyways.

If I ever got my 2nd one done I’d have my OG to sell. But it’s deep on the list of work, many things above it and so little time.

There isn't really any magic to the harness. It's just a 4PDT relay and a power resistor along with the associated connectors. There is a thread on TW that has a diagram somewhere. Search for posts by @BigWhiteTRD. I am certainly not the developer of the mod, I just sourced the correct connectors and got it manufactured. There were a few design considerations, but it really doesn't have to be complicated. I did some things lazy, like populate all 40 wires on the one connector when not all are used. That was done purposely for two reasons. 1. Ease of manufacture and limiting errors during assembly. If all the wires are populated, and are "straight through" it is easier to get all the wires in the right position and see errors. 2. Potential future compatibility in case Toyota decided to use other pins for something.

To answer the question of why I decided to stop selling them.... There were several reasons, tarrifs were only a small part of that. The larger reason was the amount of time and stress related to "customer service" issues. Everything was fine when it was mostly TW people and their close friends (presumably). It reached a point sometime last year where people that had no associations with TW and had no clue how or why these became available started being the primary customer base. They seem to assume that I'm some massive merchant (even with just one item in a square shop) and expect the red carpet.

I never intended selling these to be a retirement plan. The storefront just made it easier and more streamlined to get orders fulfilled in a timely manner.

The number of charge backs without explanation (which are basically impossible to win), and people emailing for issues they insisted were caused by the 2LM were out of hand. I had an internal policy of just replacing the harness with very few questions asked when an issue arose. The only thing I wanted was the supposedly malfunctioning part to be returned so I could inspect it and make sure any Manufacturing defects were corrected. About 10% of the time, that was too difficult. Of all the harnesses I replaced only one was defective, and it appeared to have been damaged in shipping.

Aside from that, sales have slowed significantly as these trucks are now on 2nd to 4th owners. I also have a lot going on in my personal life as well as operating my regular business full time. Juggling labor, scheduling, billing, bookkeeping, sales, and quotes of myself is already more than a full time job. I've been a free man for about a year now and I couldn't be happier. I appreciate all the support from everyone here over the years. However, it was time for me to prioritize time with my son and restart all the hobbies and interests I (somehow....) lost track of.

As for requests to "sell just one last one". I can't do that yet as I still need to take final inventory of what's left and decide how many I should hold onto for past customers in the unlikely event they need a replacement.

    /rant

Last i remember, the connectors and pins alone cost about $50 in single piece quantities. Relays are about $10-$15.
