Gotcha! Sounds like you are going to come out smelling like a rose. Sounds like timing wise you hit the sweet spot with getting it just before prices went crazy. And now with the crazy prices you locked in the low “cost” to you and can now capitalize big time on it.

you should be able to finance 100 percent with no down pmt, try credit unions first for better terms

I just bought out the lease for wife’s Lexus RX350 using my credit union.
We have Logix Credit Union here in California. They took care of everything and made it super easy.
No need for dealerships. The credit union paid Toyota Financial directly and they handled the DMV ownership transfer.

Bump this post a few years lol.
I just bought out my 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport Premium for 27,670.00 + tax etc etc to a total of 31,269.00CA
The truck has 65,000 km ( 40,300 miles ) and still in great and running shape.
In the 4 years never had any issues with it.
Looking around on the Canadian websites for prices for that year and come into 40 to 43,000
So to me it made sense to buy it out for that price with my own cash saving no finance companies or banks.
For those who are thinking about buying out you lease check prices etc and decide.
I now own my beautiful Sexy Red Tacoma.

Bottom line is, if your buyout/mileage is better than what people are selling their Tacomas for, then your way ahead, depending on how much interest you are paying for the loan.

True but factor in too you know the honest history of the particular truck, that's worth something

On paper it was a break-even purchase for me. I didn't lose, but I certainly didn't gain the upper hand.

Not considered on the paper calculation: the cost of restoring the lease to stock and/or giving away aftermarket parts, and the cost of putting a new purchase to where I like it. If that's considered, I won a lot.

    If you're happy, you won.
