I know this is detailing and While I like a clean truck - I really only detail it about 2 or 3 times a year.

The rest of the time it gets drug out in the desert, on trails, camping, etc. So detailing would be a full time job. It gets the Auto Drive Through Car Wash.

This last weekend the one I have a subscription with and have been through several times ate the lower housing off my mirror. Now waiting on an insurance claim.

    That's a pisser.

I know the place I use during the winter has a huge sign that says fold in your mirrors, among other things.

Sucks that it happened; do you fold yours in or nope?

That is why I hand wash my cars and trucks. Plus, over time the high pressure water or brushes will eat into the weatherstripping or mouldings not to mention damage the vehicle's paint finish.
