    I was looking around for snorkel kits and I as curious how these really cheap snorkel kits hold up, if they are worth their salt. I just can’t bring myself to spend $600 on a snorkel kit. But I don’t want a cheap one to come flying off on the highway.

    @Road_Warrior a long time looking…

    @Halffast555 i put $90 on my 3rd gen. I’ve only had it a month or 2 but I’ve not had any issues beside the template not lining up right and I didn’t use my brain when lining the snorkel up.

    The construction of it seems sound. It’s been outside in the sun and no issues. I used locktite on the studs to make sure it doesn’t come off while driving.

    Can’t be sure long term of the material but I love the way my truck looks with it. I also like that it’s not branded with the “ARB” or safari

    It looks good that’s for sure. Did you use any sealant on the connections?

    Nope, at least not on the air tube. It seems to have sealed pretty well with the hose clamp.

    I did run a bead of black sealant around the outside front/top of the snorkel to make sure stuff didn’t get stuck between it and the fender.

    I had a $90 Amazon special on my Lexus and it was totally fine. Construction was good, no fading after ~2 years, etc. I did trash all the hardware that came with it just for peace of mind and went with some quality 316 stainless and added a Engineaire precleaner on top.

    I got my off eBay. I am cheap and Canadian so I looked at every listing to see which one was the cheapest with shipping lol. Mine came with everything (template, foam pad to go in between snorkel/fender and hardware) I had zero issues with the template. The hardest part was getting the nut started closet to the door. Install time was an hour. I did have to modify my box as I have a afe intake on the truck. I also used Velcro to mount the support bracket to cab instead of riveting it. All the big companies buy there snorkels from china. China vs arb same same with no logo. I went with this one. Hope this helps.
