No matter which power steering pump you use you will need a longer pressure hose and a way to put in a cooling loop on the return hose. I bought a new LS400 power steering pump, used a pressure hose from a Nissan 300zx and used the mini cooler from the sc400 on the return side for cooling, its mounted behind the bumper, its in one of the pics i posted. Save the vacuum switch from your tacoma power steering pump it will thread right in to either pump you choose to use, i never tried to use the tacoma power steering pump, i used the LS400 pump because didn’t want a remote reservoir, bought new because they were known leakers, bought zx power steering hose because it had a long lolly pop straight banjo fitting good for clearance issues also the hose was long enough, had the fitting from my old hose crimped on it…another visit to hose and tube shop. No issues or leaks to date….works good.
