There is an eyelet on one end and the other end is a threaded shaft on my fox piggybacks (TRD pro takeoffs I got dirt cheap and rebuilt myself) so there is only one OEM mounting orientation. As for the orientation of the shock damper I see no issues with orientation as long as it is valved for that specific orientation. So yes I agree with you if I had mounted it upside down my rebound valving would be controlling the compression cycle and the compression valving would be controlling the rebound cycle. "Not ideal" in the words of Lance Armstrong
But if it was valved properly specifically for shaft up or shaft down then the designed orientation will work fine.
Hope I'm making sense - not sure why I typed that all out I'm fairly certain we are on the same page

Hey sorry to drag this up again, do you feel like the bag and cradle setup is limiting your uptravel? I am blow away by how good the deavers ride on road and off (wailed on them this weekend out side of prescott) but I don't see much room for uptravel as the bags are maybe 2" from contacting the cradles? I have plenty of uptravel on the shocks (currently riding at 20% sag if that) but am interested how you feel (or actual data) about your deaver - airbag setup

The up-travel is not a issue on the daystar cradles, as the bag is only attached to the frame side and not directly to the axle(has a “strike pad” the bag rests on). I air them to 25-30 when towing(2-3k lb) and then air down to 0psi when running trails. The daystar cradles/mount allows the bags to be used when needed, but not limit the travel too much when fully aired down(more of a rigid bump-stop when aired down).

I need to measure the stack height of cradle, bag and bag mounting hardware vs the OEM bump stops and compare the difference. my gut tells me that even at full 0-5psi in the bags and full compression the stack height of the airbag assembly is greater than that of the OEM bumps thus limiting up-travel but only by an 1.5" - 2" at most??? Sorry I know I am splitting hairs and not the best at explaining but I think it is something to consider when using airbags.

All that aside thx for the info on bags and deavers, the deavers have been the best suspension upgrade I have ever done and the truck rides wonderfully on and off-road, and although I am on the fence about keeping the bags installed they were and are a great tool. On road feels as good as a 63" GM leaf which is insane and offroad it just eats up nasty trails. Wildly impressed with deaver
