I would be interested in being able to turn off the seatbelt chime - specifically the ones for the back seatIMG_3614.jpg .

I have 2 Italian greyhounds and there is a larger dog bed that has 2 belt straps we bought that go around the headrest and attached to the harness they are wearing- so they are secured, but of course, the vehicle senses weight and chimes that someone needs a seatbelt on.

iI might be able to go ahead and fasten the seatbelt and see if I can tuck it behind and or under the bed ….

but I was just wondering if was another way to disable it

    Thoughts?

I used Carista to disable all seat belt chimes, front and rear. Cute doggos.

Thank you, I got on here to look for this solution. It is absolutely annoying. I own a gym and often have something heavy(er) in the back seat. So the damn thing chimes at me every time I get in and the alarm beeps 8 times thinking I left a child in the rear seat. All this "safety" shit is overkill.

BTW, what other mods can you do with Carista?

Their website will give the details. You just have to clunkily go through lots of clicks.

Unfortunately, that likely creates another problem. I tried just clicking the seatbelts in but when I leave the truck and arm the alarm, it beeps at me like TEN times trying to "alert me" that I left a child in the back seat. All this safety shit is way too much and should be controllable from within the interface in the truck. I've owned well over 30 cars in my life... this is my first Toyota and while I am enjoying the truck... their software is shit in many ways.:mad::mad:

The first few times I locked my truck it beeped multiple times, but for some reason it stopped. I always lock using the handle and I've had the rear seatbelts buckled almost from day 1.

there are no back seat sensors in a hybrid at least. i just removed my rear seats for a trip and there were no wires. i also hauled 2 dogs on a 20 hour round trip road trip to colorado last year and didnt have any chimes at all. no seat belts buckled or anything. i just had one of those back seat proctectors that is like a huge taco that the dogs sit in.
