Hi I have a 2018 Tacoma Pro and I see a lot of you added the anytime backup camera. I just installed mine today everything is working exceptit doesn’t illuminate blue like my other switches when the lights turn on. When I toggle the button front and back the lights show just doesn’t show the blue. I only have the blue and grey wires left but on 3rd generation not supposed to use them. Any thoughts why? Thanks.

Does the switch have the option to be illuminated blue?

What brand of Anytime Backup camera you have? Mine is from TrailGrid Pro, all “plug and play.” Rock light go blue when I turn on headlights, and go orange when front camera on, or reverse camera.
Have to watch out for cheap aftermarket accesories. Nobody never knows, might have all kinds of crap, sooner or later.;)

Good point thanks I got the system from Runnin4 Tacos and no option to switch blue that I can see. I figured it was just a plug and play like STEELeR43 said. Maybe I’ll just unplug and plug in again. Thanks

I never heard of RunninTaco cameras. But I mean the Anytime Front and Rear Camera from TrailGrid Pro all harness was pre-assemble, no need to splice OEM wiring harness, plug into factory OEM harness, done.

Sorry I mean I purchased the system from Runnin4Tacos not sure who made it. It was pretty much a plug and play like the others. Just wondered if anyone had same issue. I’ll just backtrack and I’m sure I’ll find my mistake. Thanks for your help.

Why aren't you supposed to use the blue and gray wires? Those should be the switch illumination wires to light it up with the rest of the switches.

With this harness it should be plug and play and the switch will be dimmable with the rest of the instrument lights.

Thanks the directions said not to use those two wires because it’s a 2018 but I just called the guy who made it and said yes you can use them. Would have been nice if that was in the directions. Thanks for the help!!

Fwiw, I also have an Anytime Camera and no backlit blue display - which makes it difficult to locate at times.

So the guy I spoke with said take the blue wire and tie it into the red ones and take the grey wire and tie it into the black ground wire and it will illuminate when the truck is on. I guess meaning all the time. He said or you can splice the blue and grey into one of the other buttons with lights.

The R4T video unfortunately omits what the anytime camera website written instructions say- for pre-2020 Tacoma, add the blue switch wire in with the reds, and ground the gray wire, for switch illumination.

I just hooked up AT Camera, front and back, on my 2016 today.

Also, my front camera power wire was green, not red, like in his video and as those written (2021) instructions from the ATC website say.
