So I had a local shop install some new Dobinsons L59-111-R leaf springs to compensate for added bed weight. Constant load is around 300lbs, but with camping gear it can get closer to 600. I opted for heavier springs in general as I plan to upgrade equipment (tent, awning, shell/cover etc) over time and I know that will bring additional weight. Buy once, cry once as I always say, but boy am I crying

This started with my truck sitting nose high with just Bilstein 5100s and gear, and I prefer a level truck.

    BEFORE NEW LEAF SPRINGS:

What are my options for the front end without replacing shocks. The shop recommends coil springs and I trust them. I would just like to know what is gonna get me back to level as it would be much appreciated.

    :fingerscrossed:

What leaf pack did you pick?

If you already have your bilsteins maxed in the front 2” then it might be you need new front shocks like a 6112. Also do you have spacers in the rear? They can go as low as 1/2” so you can drop the backend if you have 1-2” spacers. and keep the front.

Personally I think it looks good. What size tires are those?

Pics never do anything justice, but in person it is noticeably higher in the rear. I’m not running anything other than bilsteins 5100 on second to last clip I’ll get exact measurements tomorrow.

Tires are 255/80/17 Toyo RT Trails. They have been great on and off road. I’ve been most impressed in the sand with a skinnier tire aired down

Dude you can't have it level empty and full unless you do airbags. Rake, not magic, is an inherent pickup design so they can accomodate payload.

How many miles on the new leaf packs? They will settle some.

One can hope. I’ve put less than 50 miles on them at this point. I’ll have it loaded tomorrow for a 600 mile round trip with all my gear.

I’m okay with the fact of it riding slightly higher without a full load. However, at minimum I would like to bring the front back up a couple inches. As am sure you know, Dobinsons and OME springs are compatible with Bilsteins. I guess this post was geared more towards examples, pictures or any relevancy with a congruent front suspension, not to just “offset” my current rear suspension.

Yeah, gotta let them settle a little bit.

Can you measure out the front and rear hub to fender measurements? That will show what actual lift height you're at. You probably just need a set of these coils up front.

I’m going to get that info after this weekend. Been so busy I didn’t have time to measure up.

Side Note: it’s looking 10 times better now that it’s loaded. Close to 500 lbs all together and I don’t have my 65qt cooler full of ice yet

Keep 1" of rake in there, don't try and level it out. Level trucks display a bro lean when you accelerate. Leaf springs will also settle over time too.
