I bought 4 barely used Firestone Transforce HT2 tires in 245/75/r16 load range E.

The recommended PSI for these are in the 40s-50, they’re 10 ply. Seems to be for HD trucks.

Are these not good to put on? Guy on the phone at a Tire shop seemed wary of them because they’re Mainly used for HD trucks

dang folks are working, give it a bit for a reply :D
I have had General Grabber AT's on mine for about 3 years, at 52-53 pounds each, they are HEAVY. I hardly drive my truck and when I do it's often hunting or to the range where it's mildly off-road. I could instantly feel their weight in the ride, acceleration, and braking,,,, in less than 100-200 miles, I could also see the impact in MPG's. Even though I barely drive this truck, I have pondered on swapping em out, but now they're old enough I will just leave em. There is no way in hell, I would suggest these for a daily driver.

I have these on the rear of a vintage 1988 motorhome. 215/85/16 @ 60 psi. They’ve been a good tire so far. I wouldn’t run them on my Tacoma because I need something a bit more aggressive. My opinion is, if I’m going to run a Load Range E tire, I may as well have the tread to go with it. However, considering you got a deal on them, I’m sure they’ll be fine. Try them out at 30-35 lbs and see how they feel. If you don’t like them, rip’em off and sell them. Someone will gladly take them off your hands.

I'd check the sidewalls carefully for any cracks or signs of dry rot since the title of your thread indicates these tires are from 2019. If they are that old, then they are nearing the recommended change out interval. I think most tire manufacturers now say 7 years (?) IIRC, but I know folks run tires well past that too if the tires show no sign of degradation.

As for the tire itself, I had those on a Ford Super Duty and I didn't like them. Hard compound had them slipping around with any slightly heavy blip of the throttle on that truck.

They will ride hard, burn a lot more gas and offer poor traction as well, on the positive they should last for years.

If you got a good enough deal that you are OK with that give them a try.
