Update: Fixed. Rear door had something blocking it from closing fully.

    ---

Just noticed this yesterday. Locking still locks, but doesn't give the single beep (edit: nor flash the blinkers). Unlocking gives the double beep and flash as expected.

Can't find anything in the manual -- anyone got any ideas how to fix?

Have you taken apart door panels lately to work on speakers? If so maybe check the door linkage.

I have not, although I did recently remove an extra cable next to the driver's tweeter, left by the previous owner. It also rained heavily that past couple days. These are the only two events I can think of that might remotely affect anything.

If you don’t think the no beep is related to the lock linkage, maybe try unhooking the Negative battery cable for one minute to see if it clears up.

On my 1st gen there was a factory tiny speaker up in the engine bay area that was the sound part of that beep, not sure if that continued through the generations.

It’s still the small speaker up by the radiator for beeps. The weird part is it beeping for one mode but not the other.

Found some references to the door stuff not registering. I guess I'll start digging around on my doors, and verify all doors correctly lock.

At least that'll give me a clue what door it might be, if they don't all lock properly.

One of the doors wasn't fully closing.

Fixed. Leaving this up for search engines to index.

One doesn’t. And hasn’t since I purchased the truck. Maybe there is a setting or it was never hooked up.

I would check and clean all the locking mechanisms (connectors and such) on your doors if it's the same problem I was having. But mine was beeping for open, but not for lock.

There is a setting to turn it off completely. So if you're not getting any beeps at all, there's a couple possibilities. It could be the beeper was removed, which is near the driver's headlight. But there's also a process to toggle it on/off where you (from memory and definitely not accurate) insert the key, remove it, insert it, turn it on, count to 10 and hit the lock button or something to toggle it.
