I'm renewing my 2009 4.0 and the small diameter split loom under the supercharger disintegrated from the heat so, I'm hoping to de-pin the affected connectors so that I can slide 1/4-1/2" inside diameter, silicone covered fiberglass sleeves so that it will last for the 1,000,000 miles I'm shooting for. o_O

Does anyone have decent instructions or videos regarding the de-pinning of these connectors:

    1. Emissions Evap Valve Connector
I'm certain that this plastic tab gets pulled out but stumped on what's next.

Do the insulators in the back come out one by one? How?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You use a depinning tool, basically it slides in from the front of the connector and depressors the latch on the metal pin and allows you to pull the wire and weather seal out all at once

I suck at explaining it, especially without pics, but I’ll try. First, try googling “depinning Sumitomo TS090” maybe? Might be a good video. Now, my instructions: see that white plastic thing by the terminals? It should slide straight out.

Then, there will be little tabs towards the terminals that are holding it in. You can gently pry those away from the terminals (the metal contact)

While prying that, you can pull the wire from the backside. The seal will come off with it

Oh, I should note on the white plastic thing, just pull it all the way out. It will go back in, but it’s easiest to do with it out of the way

That was the issue I had on the evap one. I didn't want to break it but when I pulled it all the way out, it was ez-pz thereafter. I was relieved to see the grommet in the rear came out with the terminal end.

ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET OEM CONNECTORS or P/Ns?

I've been going back and forth with ToyotaPartsDeal looking for this connector that connects to the VVT Solenoid (Toyota 15330-0P010 Valve Assy, Cam Timing Oil Control, RH). They keep wanting to sell me the solenoids.

I really don't like the AI 'customer support.' ...I remember the days where you could actually talk with someone that could help. :(

Toyota sells the connector bodies and terminals separately, see attached file for the part numbers.

Standard Motor Products makes the pigtail, part number should be: S1716
