That is still looking like the best option.....4 coats min correct ?? did you finish with sum coats of "clear" UV protection

You are way overthinking this just buy you some OEM overlays from the dealer not some cheap junk off eBay or Amazon and you will be very happy.

I have a 2025 4th gen Limited and the limited black overlays did not fit. The OEM overlays were too small. Anyone else have this happen?

I was all tore up about replacing the chrome on my 2021 super white when I first got it.

Kids advised me to give it a year and then re-consider.

Glad I did. I've taken a 'shine' to the chrome ( pun intended ) and will leave them there.

This is something everyone should consider, roll the options around, make notes, give it some time then re-think
the mod you are going to do. I extrapolate the costs in terms of pizza. How many pizza's could I buy with that money.

I recently used the overlays. I cleaned the emblems with alcohol first. The 3m adhesive on the overlays is very strong so I have no doubt they will last.

Quicksand with hood protector, color matching decals on tailgate latch, mudflaps, glovebox, and tailgate hitch cover.
I put overlays over mine soon after I got it in 2019, and while I figured the adhesive that came on them was probably enough, I did put adhesive on the original emblems first, and then applied the overlays. Just a little added adhesive for my own peace of mind. That was very easy to do, and beats the heck out of replacing one emblem that could fall off.

Like my 22 now, I dipped my 2019’s emblems black with plain old black plastidip. Clean the chrome emblems with alcohol, 5 coats, 1/2 hr dry between each coat. The dip on the emblems on my 19 held up for 5 years in Florida weather till I traded up, probably still on it. They looked like I removed, painted them flat black, and put them back on.
