You just need to reseal where the 3rd bolts to the housing? If so, do it yourself. About an hour to 1.5hr worth of work.

I'm not necessarily proud of this, but I've had success cleaning the leaking area with brake cleaner then running a bead of RTV along the seam of the third member/axle housing and smearing it with my finger. Obviously not a permanent fix, but it stopped the leak for months until I had the time to address it....

Honestly no clue, few Facebook posts also mention trying to get them to do some work but no response. I messaged him asking if he could swap the bearings and he said he doesn’t have a press. Which I knew he did since he did work for me a few years back :notsure:

Google lists Greer as permanently closed. They did some front end work for me not no long ago. The website is still up but the phone is disconnected, wonder what happened. Guess it’s a good thing I made my next appointment with Toyotechs

The taco got its new shoes installed today! Loving them so far! Had them up to 95 with zero vibration and I can't seem to hear a peep of road noise. Will report back after a camping trip next weekend!

The 2nd one seems unnecessarily complicated so between the two I'd pick #1, but personally I wouldn't mount a wheel/tire to a bed rail. The rails aren't super stout.

I know. I’ve seen some post about it cracking the bed when flexed. Was hoping to strap it down and mitigate that. And don’t want to go the other option but may have to. https://www.roughcountry.com/product/univeral-bed-mount-spare-tire-carrier-99073

Pretty sure those are pics of @aturk rig. You could ask his input on that unit.

Just a thought. I don't know if this would hold, but could you do a cargo bar across the width of the bed to hold the tire in place against the back of the bed, and if needed using tie down points on the bed rail to help secure the tire and hold it upright?

Yup that's my truck. The BashFab tire holder is great, I couldn't think of anything you'd want more in it. I do like the BashFab unit over the other one linked, the BashFab one uses actual wheelstuds pressed and tacked into place, which lets you use actual lug nuts which is a great way to carry a few spares.

With that said, you're limited by the strength of the rails on the truck. I had mine mounted to the front rail and then used a tie down strap to make sure there was no movement getting to the actual front rail itself. Think of it as the front rail was holding the tire vertical and the tie down strap was doing most of the work. Worked out great.

I've changed my setup like 3-4x since then, I now have a swing out bumper with a tire carrier on it and while that's the best option by far, it also prevents my truck from parking in the garage so I'm usually rolling around with no spare.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
I dont do a quarter of the fun adventures a lot of the people on here do, but but skinny ratchet straps have worked just great at securing my spare.

This would be my suggestion. have one go across to the 2 attachment points on the sides of the bed and then have one go over the tire and get 2 D rings for the rear 2 bed bolts to attach the strap to those over the tire.

My fiancé and I finally made the move from Raleigh, NC to Woodstock, GA, and so far, so good.

We’ve planned on it for around a year. She grew up in East Cobb, and after moving around the country for the last 10 years, from Louisiana, to Texas, and Colorado, to the Piedmont in Eastern NC, I feel we’ve finally arrived home.

    First impressions were great -
    1. More affordable than NC. We’re living in a nicer home with more space, and saving money on living expenses.
    2. Brick and mortar Black Rifle Coffee shop 1 mile away.
    3. Publix pub-subs
    4. Haven’t had a bad meal so far - restaurants in general are better, from the Chinese, to BBQ, to southern, Vietnamese, WINGS - everything’s good.
    5. Relatively mountainous
    6. And of course, Woodstock is God’s country, filled with salt of the earth American’s :oldglory:

Welcome to GA. My sister in law just moved to wood stock. We went to the free concert down town 2 weeks ago. Downtown Woodstock is by far one of the better downtown areas I've experienced in the out side of Atlanta areas. If I have to move from where I am I'm looking hard at Woodstock. Enjoy the new place!

Welcome to Georgia. I understand your statement on mountains compared to Raleigh NC. I moved up to Raleigh Durham in my early 20's. I was shocked as to how flat it was when compared to North GA. Being young and dumb at the time I had just assumed all of NC would have mountains because it was farther north, lol. and Publix subs are damn good too.

enjoy them. the closes Publix is 30 minutes from me in either Catersville or Rome. When my wife delivered our last child a few months ago in Rome, Publix subs was all she wanted to eat for lunch and dinner for every meal for those days we were in the hospital. Luckily Publix is across the street from the hospital.
