Purchased these 2 years ago and looks like the top of these have been discolored. Hard to take photos that actually show it, but just washed the car and it shows very clearly. Anyone else have issues with theres? Assumed this would happen with cheap alpharex but morimotos?

planning on giving their customer service a call for warranty claim tomorrow.

For sure reach out and request a refund or replacement... but be warned, this isn't surprising from Morimoto and will likely happen again. Many here have been burned by Morimoto's quality. It's the same Chinese junk as Alpharex... likely the same factory and molds producing both.

Just noticed this on mine after detailing the truck. Some pretty substantial yellowing on the housing. I ended up buying a cerakote headlight cleaning kit and went to town on em. Then I polished with some turtlewax and they’re looking fine.

I love the Morimotos but I can’t help but feel like the Pro headlights would’ve been a better option at this point. Maybe if my warranty for the XBs runs out and I experience issues, I’ll spring for the pros, but for now the elbow grease seemed to fix the issue

Morimoto gives a five year warranty but it probably doesn’t cover “environmental” damage.
I wouldn’t lament over not getting pro lamps, my factory headlamps were starting to delaminate at 36 months.

Curious to see what they end up doing. I had a pair of XBs on my 2nd gen that had the running light halo go out in a spot and they sent me a replacement with almost no questions asked.

The peeling up on the top/corners is also very common on the OEM housing. I had mine warrantied at 50kish. All my buddies have it peeling in that same area on their OEM ones too (2017,2019)

Update: called customer service and they started a claim. Sent in some photos and proof of purchase. Looks like the only downside is that I have to take time to uninstall and reinstall the new lights

Running to the same problem. I’m about to make a warranty claim. Did you have to destroy them before they shipping you new ones. I seen field destroy, but if I do I wouldn’t have headlights until the new ones come in.

I’m dealing with a Morimoto warranty claim right now for their 3rd brake light. They wanted me to either ship the old one back first in order to get a replacement sent out, or pay retail for a new one and I’ll get reimbursed once they receive the warranty part I send in. Not ideal. I wish they would have offered to just let me destroy the old one but I wonder if they make you do so before the replacement gets sent out? Either way, it’s a PITA process.

Old thread, but my gen2's did that and they replaced them with the new Evo's. I then had the Evo's PPF'd to keep them fresh.

I purchased the new ones (they were discounted via a link they sent) and then got refunded a few weeks later after I sent them back and they 'checked' them.

The Evo has much better build quality. They really feel like an OEM piece vs the China quality that plagued the gen2's.
