Pick-Up-DayAPR15'24a.jpg I was always a car person. The '68 Buick Special Deluxe hand-me-down from the Grand folks to the first car I bought myself: a new '85 Pontiac Sunbird, traded for a new '87 Chevy Cavalier Z-24 (off the Showroom floor!), then a used '96 Mercury Mystique. Then I inherited a 2006 Colorado with 180K miles and a beat-to-hell bed (rock hauler?). Once I had that little truck, I learned the value of a truck and would not venture forth without one. Mom passed away and left me enough money to get a new vehicle. Always loved the look of the Tacoma and started looking at used ones. Then I thought, I'm 62 years old and haven't had a brand-new vehicle in 37 years, so I treated myself to the new 4th Gen SR5. I liked the new look. I got the SR5 because I didn't need the bells and whistles of the higher trims. My Z-24 was black, and I LOVED it. I went back and forth between black and Underground. Underground won, and I'm glad it did. In some light it actually looks black, and that's cool. Even unwashed it looks good - in my opinion people's complaints about looking dirty are purely personal. I've not experienced any of the transmission or electrical problems I've read about, but just yesterday I got a "Remedy Notice" about the Blind Spot Monitoring needing a software update for towing. I'll get that done even though my chances of towing something are slim. I've had my Tacoma for just over a year now and absolutely love it. I'm currently figuring out the best way for me to apply the Tri-Color to the front. Thanks for listening!

Hi 4x4 - I sure will. After a year I only have about 6300 miles on her - I alternate days with a 2010 Hyundai Tucson that came to me after my sister passed. I want to drive the truck every day, but having two vehicles is a benefit.

    Good luck
I think overall the new Gen has had a good start. Everything has l little problems here and there but so far I think it will be as reliable as any in the past .
