I had those in my 23' Tacoma, every bump was like riding a hard tail Harley.....Painful. I bit the bullet, took the loss and pulled them off and went with the Road Active Suspension. Perfectly smooth stock ride and when my trailer is added or the bed loaded it handles it well. It even limits sway when cornering.

I’m sure they’re great but I don’t want the rear lifted by the 1-1.5 inches that results

The very slightly raised rear end is hardly noticeable on my stock suspension Off Road

There were enough similar experiences on the web where folks tried every type of fix for the harsh ride with no success that I decided to eat the cost and replace. Mine had the onboard compressor, expensive system. I was lucky enough to get some of the purchase price back from the shop that installed the system wanted them.

    2k cad?! :canada:That's like 5mil usd!!
The entire system only cost me 300 usd as all labor was included in the purchase price. Bags, fitting, pumps, gauges etc.. I guess the price we paid reflects our opinion on the airbags. For me, being able to lift and lower the truck at the press of a button is priceless. Especially when you just need that extra inch on that hitch.:p She is a bit bouncy when unloaded but smooth when loaded and working. I'm definitely extra happy now knowing I didnt pay what others paid. :homer: BTW after installing that bags, I got this weird noise coming from the front. Sounds like every noise that everyone has ever described here in tw. Any advice?:D

I should clarify that if I frequently towed or hauled heavy loads I would be keeping this system. It’s just with 5 to 10% towing and hauling it’s not enough to justify the rougher ride the rest of the time. And yes my springs even though I only have 30,000 miles on it are probably a bit worn and making it worse. The guys where I got it done are going to remove everything and refund me the parts. I’ll probably give the Sumos a try and if that’s not enough move to the RAS

    2 cents.

Op. No boat, but I’ve pulled a 2,000 pound teardrop trailer all over the Western USA the last five years. Easily more than 40,000 miles, including significant off-pavement trails.

Deaver AAL and Sumo Springs. This does lift the rear 1.5”.

Cheap, simple, and I don’t notice them when not towing or when wheeling.

Yes. 1.5” lift in the front. I’ve got some spendy ADS shocks front and rear, but some Bilstein 5100s would do. Not affiliated, but Headstrong Offroad has a package deal on the Bilsteins and the Deaver AAL.

A full tank of gas, 2 packs of Costco water, and your mother in law all is the bed should make the ride more enjoyable. Cheapest way with no more lift.
