    Hi guys,
I have a '99 Tacoma with a 2RZ-FE with an overheating problem. I have replaced the thermostat, no fix, I noticed exhaust gasses coming out of the radiator with the cap off, so I took the head off to replace the head gasket, took the head to a machine shop to have it checked, it needed to be shaved, had that done. Put it back together and have the same problem.
Noticed the fan clutch is very weak, so I am replacing that today.
Just posting here to get some feedback and see if there is something on the Toyotas that I am not aware of and might be missing.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Update if anyone is interested, I bought an exhaust gas detector and I have exhaust gasses in the cooling system. So I guess I get to do the head gasket again.
The job went so smooth too, don't know what went wrong. Unless something is cracked, which would be my luck. I'm starting to think that might be the case, it is exhibiting the exact same
    behavior as before.
It does not show any overheating after it warms up, it takes awhile for it get hot, enough time to make you think everything is fine. I can drive a few miles everything is fine and then all of a sudden bam, the temp gauge starts to climb.
Got back home, let it idle for like half an hour, then started using the exhaust gas detector, everything was fine for another 20 mins. Wasn't detecting anything, I thought maybe there was just
some trapped air in the system (wishful thinking). Then bam, there's the exhaust gasses! Very discouraging to say the least. I've done many head gaskets in my 59 years, never had a problem like this.
