Hello! I have a 2002 Tacoma pre runner. I had to replace my leaf springs, went with generalspring hd and added a Boise spring works kit as I carry a FWC fleet on this truck.

this was my first time doing my own leafs and I’m a novice at best YouTube mechanic. Everything went well until I put it back to together. It appears my driver side is an inch higher than the passenger side. Is this something that will be resolved over time with weight and settling (camper is not on yet).

I’m aware of the Tacoma lean, as I had to address it on my last 01, but this is the inverse. Just wondering if I messed up something…

I did order left and right specific springs (90-235hd and 90-237hd) from general springs and they later sent me an email that they were sending me the two 90-237hd’s as the 237 and 235 are the same spring. I also have the right color coding for boise spring works spring pack.

The springs should be made side specific to account for the Tacoma lean, but at that price point it sounds like General Springs decided to ignore that, based upon what they told you.

So it sounds like you did nothing wrong. It may sort itself out slowly over time as the weight of the battery, driver, and gas tank wear down that sides leafs (could take a while).

Thanks for your reply! I had good luck with general springs in the past, but I’m starting to wonder. I went the “affordable” route because I decided to quit my job and return to college.

They sent me the same sided springs also. When I called them about it they said that they bent the driver spring a little more before sending them out. It has since settled evenly.

Thanks! It’s atleast reassuring I didn’t mess up, hoping once I have the camper on it for a little bit it should settle in faster.
