So since 2020 I've had my 2017 DCLB. I changed the grille to a TRD pro grille like 2 weeks after I got it.
I got tired of seeing everyone and their brother in my area. I bought a grilled from KOK. Great quality BTW.

The question at hand is. Put the Toyota letters on or keep them off.

I know I know. It's my choice but I just want a different opinion than my wife's… because she "likes" the pro grille better because that's what Toyota would put on it. Lol

I like letters. I'm not a huge fan of those letters. Too ford-ish. There are plenty of letters in the sea however, as they say. Personally I put the retro BJ70 emblem on mine.

Something that size might look better on yours as well. Heck, a small emblem would look really cool if you mounted it in the lower corner, 80's pickup style.

I personally don’t looks the huge open grille look on vehicles. The letters break it up nice but as someone else stated, they’re huge. I have the V2 pro grill and I like that size letter…perhaps you could get a smaller set if it’s the size of the letters that have you questioning the decision.

At the end of the day it’s your truck, do whatever you like the best. I was watching some Dave Ramsey episode and he stated to a guy wanting to buy an expensive car, “if you’re buying it because you’re going to love it and love driving it, do it! If you’re buying it because other people might like it, don’t buy it.” Go with whatever you like the best! If you add the letters and don’t end up liking it, take them off and rock the naked grill for a bit.

Totally agree. I bought this truck with the intentions of trading it in a couple years after I pay it off. Which I did in the beginning of June. I love the truck and the styling of it. Don't get me wrong. My issue comes down to is I have three kids and they are all in car seats yet. My wife has a sienna but I'm one that doesn't like to keep putting the miles on it when I don't have to. She doesn't like the truck now because it's very tight for all of us. She likes the truck for the same reasons I do but again we are in the same page that it will be great for trade in. I only have a little over 80,000 miles on it.

I know down the line that we will need two vehicles to go on our annual Beach vacation. She doesn't want to hear it but I know it's going to happen especially with bikes and stuff. Which is why I will be looking for a full size and the next two years.

Yep that was the struggle I was in too then I traded back into a Tacoma now that my boys are older. You can always go back or if you can squeeze it keep the Tacoma and get a better suited family sized vehicle. We have a 4Runner when all of us need to go anywhere, the Tacoma is pretty much my commuter and camping/hunting rig.
