... in your 4th gen? Inspire me! I bought a MOLLE water bottle pouch to put my Nalgene in, but it doesn't work, it sits too flat against the hard panel on the center console.

So what are you all using your built in MOLLE panels for?

Get the z precision cup holder if you want your Nalgene to fit in there, install is easy and it’s worth every penny. As for the MOLLE, the center console stuff is great for a no drill GMRS/CB mount. Driver side I have some gloves and a pouch with random bs in it.

I bought one and returned it because rotopax are a pain and anything else can be stored with either Tupperware type folders or strapped to the bed using the hook locations all over the bed.

NOTHING! I have found Molle mounting to be quite useless on vehicles. especially any rigid panel without easy access behind the panel. Velcro panels and organizers are really the way to go IMO.

I use those same straps. They are great but didn’t last long in the sun though, lol. Had them strapping down a ladder on rack. I use them inside or out of that intense UV.
When I had a molle panel, I had a couple bags strapped with various items. That way I could leave the bag strapped and just unzip to get to tool, light, or whatever.
    EDIT:
I missed the “built in” part…I do not use those or the pockets.

Isn't the OP referring to the interior factory molle style panels?

I forgot that console panel was there and thought the exterior kind is what was being discussed.

I added Molle panels to the sun visors for a knife, flashlight, tape measure, note pads, and pencil. Also used the center console Molle for large water bottle (it's actually a chalk bag for climbers, but works great).

I don't know what a Nalgene is, I guess a reusable water bottle. Which might be better for everyone but I drink water out of a plastic bottle like a common slob. I'm sure it's bad for my health but the water I'd put in a reusable bottle would come out of a plastic water cooler and those things can get quite funky. I bring this up as I've heard a lot of guilt tripping lately about single use plastics. Every bottle of bottled water is going to get drank by someone at some point that's why it was bottled. If you object to single use plastic bottles that should be taken up with the bottler. I think where ever this talk is coming from was just advertising for reusable bottles or water that isn't packaged in plastic. If you are worried about single use plastic what about all the plastic used to build automobiles and the rubber used in tires? That's got to be worse than the few thousand bottles the average person could end up using in a lifetime. It's hot and I don't feel like carrying an empty canteen around with me.

I see this question often. It's the equivalent of "I just built some shelves, what should I store on them?"

AKA, it's a cart before the horse question.

The real question is, "I have entirely too much crap in my vehicle. What's the best way to arrange it so that it doesn't look like a trash heap?"

I'm guessing you never have a passenger (or they have really skinny legs).

Interesting thread; and nice door setup Snickers. We all knew this truck was tight; otherwise we'd have bought the Tundra.

That said, I keep a few things in the door, like an umbrella and water, got the divider for the glove box so it can serve its purpose better and that's that. A multitool, a solid knife, a trenching tool shovel, hatchet, machete, flashlight, readers, sunglasses, work gloves, extra jacket and hat, couple of blankets, rubber boots, rags, cleaning supplies (thousands of dead bugs per trip), paper towels, tissues, sturdy line, fire starters and county-road level maps of the region. Then there's the tow-hitch wiring harness. Some of this stuff is tucked under the front seats so it doesn't interfere with seat's movement, some behind the rear seats, along with a bunch of those large FreshDirect bags. A few things live in a snap-closed clear plastic container that resides in the bed (generally with the bed cover locked down over it).

Bear spray is a great idea. For bears too.

More times than not I don't have a passenger, but no one's been inconvenienced by the bottle yet and if it was ever a problem for anyone I'd just take the bottle out and put it behind the seat (no problem at all). Just thought it might help out the OP since he was looking for a molle spot to put his water bottle.
