I have watched several videos and some have you remove the body while others just spray cleaner and wipe. Should I remove it, clean it and replace gasket? Or just spray and wipe? Thoughts

Whatever is easiest, I've done it both ways depending on access and how hard it is to remove.

Typically don't have to replace the gasket unless it's degraded/flat.

I removed mine. Can’t do key on engine off and putting a stick on the gas pedal to leave the flap open. It’s only 4 12 mm nuts I think after removing the air boot.

Remove is best, and I've re-used them often, they don't really crush and wear.

Why can’t you slowly push the butterfly open, wipe and put it all back together?

I personally removed mine recently, man did it need it with 297k.
I would certainly take it off for two reasons. One, There are small channels that run down to the iacv and carb cleaner can carry deposits down with gravity and clog the iacv unit. And two you can remove the iacv unit with a jis philips screw driver or vice grips and clean that unit as well as bench test it with 12v and watch it operate for a peace of mind. dont think about it, that over complicates things. Good luck you got this.
