A lot of bands were active through more than one decade and there's soooo many good ones. I miss the late night live performances on the David Letterman Show. The Leno Show too.

Much like Scott Weiland, Layne Staley had a unique vocal tone that just completed the band. Scott Weiland had some really good songs and covers with Slash in Velvet Revolver later on too.

I was never really a fan of Bush or Nirvana. Too much depressing grunge imo. Gwen Stefani is talented, but I think her good looks and bubbly personality carried most of No Doubts musical success.

It seemed like the whole world got a stick stuck up their butt once the 2000's hit. People need to loosen up more these days.

Let's do 80's next please.

If you've ever driven on I-81, you know that there's an inordinate amount of truck traffic.
So much so that I-81 is notorious for it.
Ever wonder why that is?

It's because of the "Inland Port" at Front Royal, Virginia.
Container ships are unloaded at Norfolk, the containers being immediately loaded onto Norfolk Southern rail cars.
They are then transported by rail to the Inland Port at Front Royal, sorted, and sent on to their destinations.
Most of them on trucks via I-81, which runs from the Canadian border to Dandridge, TN.

This was a good idea at the time, and avoided the coastal I-95 corridor altogether.
In the 70s, Interstate 81 was not heavily traveled (I remember it).
No more.
It has been widened in places, but most such projects have hung fire and it's getting to be a big problem.
