So long story short I didn’t drive my 2012 4.0 V6 125k for about a month. Didn’t have any codes then I went to drive it and it idled rough, and drove rough. I parked it after 5 minutes and scanned it I was getting P0011 for A crankshaft position timing over advance on bank 1, P2109 throttle pedal position sensor A minimum stop performance & P1604 for stability malfunction. I did a little research and it sounds like I’m probably dealing with a bad VVT solenoid, or clogged filter, & also maybe a gunked up throttle body? I just drove the car for 2 miles at low speeds and it feels and sounds a lot better but now I’m getting code P0012 for A crankshaft position timing over- retarded. I scheduled an appointment to have the truck worked on next week because I don’t have the time or the knowledge to just replace the VVTs myself. My question is based on those codes is it likely to be just a bad VVT and a bad throttle body or am I dealing with a timing chain elongation, or something more serious? I will need to drive the truck for about 20 minutes to get it to the mechanic do you think it’s safe to do so or should I just have it towed and not run the risk of further damaging it? Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.

If it sat for about a month.
I would pop the hood and look for rodent damage.
    Check the wiring for damage.

For P0011 & P0012 the FSM lists Trouble areas as below. Both codes are related to Bank 1(Passenger). I also suspect rodents having a soy snacky.
    • Valve timing
    • Oil control valve (OCV)
    • OCV filter
    • Camshaft timing gear assembly
    • ECM

Unfortunately you can't easily see the VVT Oil control valves or the wiring easily. Here you can see them right in front of the fuel rail crossover behind/below where the throttle body would be and the passenger valve wiring is in the same loom with the throttle body wiring.
