Poor ride quality

    Note that LT tires require more air pressure than a P tire to maintain the same max load. I used a to have a link to table that listed the max load per air pressure for a particularly specced tire, but I can’t find it at the moment.

    I do remember that my 255/85r16 E-load tires require 37 psi to maintain the same max load as the stock tires.

    LT tires need more air pressure to avoid overheating due to their reduced efficiency (increased rolling resistance).

    The door jam air pressure is applicable to tires of the same specs as the stock tires. It does not apply to LT tires.

    I found an air pressure calculator. LT285/70r17 C chimes in at 35 psi.
    LT255/85r16 E chimes in at 38 psi.

    This is based is based on a comparison to a P265/70r16 tire at 29 psi.
