I don't understand why RB can't just setup the 2nd car like they do the Racing Bull car. Or at least change things up enough so it's not so slanted towards Max. Yes, I get that Max is the clear #1, but I don't see why they are almost self sabotaging by not changing the setup as much as possible to give the 2nd driver a car that suits them better.

Yep, the first 15 or so laps!

Lando did well to keep him behind, it was sooo close.

Did they announce the problem? Software? Brake didn’t release or something?

In some ways I'm thinking that it's not actually him...... or even Lawson (Knowing that he's awful anyway). How is it that both of them Do a hell of a lot better When they are in the RB Car But when they are put in the actual Red Bull car They both start doing absolutely awful? both of the Red Bull cars Are set up specifically for Max's way of driving and when you set UA car only specifically for one Drivers way of driving When a different driver tries to get in there they're going to do horrible To begin with. I really you put anyone in that secondary car they're going to start doing horrible. red Bull really needs to start focusing a lot more on the long game and not just about Max. just my $0.02

I don't think this year's Red Bull is a particularly good car, period. I think Max is a singular talent who is able to extract more from the car than other drivers. If Max was in a McLaren this year he'd be winning races by 10+ seconds, like he used to do when the Red Bull car was better.

Definitely. I just figured they’d keep swapping drivers trying to find one that can get closer to handling it, especially after how quickly they axed Lawson.

They need both cars set up close to the same to maximize testing and analysis.

It's a feature, not a bug...RB has known they have no chance at winning the constructer's this year and going into a season with all new regs (especially with no more Newey) that wind tunnel time is more valuable than the $ they'll leave on the table. We saw the same thing second half of last season with Checo. The RB21 is built and setup in a way that nobody but Max can drive it, and he's got a competitive car. Could they build a 2nd car that's a copy of the VCARB? Sure, but that costs time and $ and if successful would cost them valuable wind tunnel time so in the grand scheme of things it's just not worth it.

And honestly it seems right now that RB has much bigger problems on their hands than their 2nd seat...like their #1 seat for 2026 and the new Ford PU.

Anybody seen the F1 movie yet? Pretty decent from visuals and sound but there’s a few odds and ends that would make a hardcore fan go…..”wtf was that?” Overall a good blockbuster but don’t go into it expecting Top Gun 2 but with F1 cars that’s for sure.

It was made for a casual-intermediate F1 fan. The novice-rookie fan will be like "huh?". The expert will be "wtf?".
I liked that it was, for the most part, an alternate universe 2023 F1 season. The 11th team was all actors of course but the other 10 were the teams.
I did like the map to Ensenada though the ending was lack-luster at "Ensenada" (Pismo). At least they could have put the car thru the whoops.
