Pretty sure everything AROUND Seattle would beat Seattle!

Sadly my commute is less than 4 miles... But the morning air sure was nice today!

Woodinville to Anacortes and back. Could be much worse!

One of these days we want to take the bikes to the San Juans... Any idea which would be best?

Probably one with a motor? Pedal bike would take awhile.

Anacortes is the only ferry isn't it? Looks like Port Townsend also has one. I couldn't imagine that being convenient but if you liked the really long way around? Plan on making reservations for a ride back, they don't run very often I don't think. I've only been to Friday Harbor once, for work. It was an all day affair getting there and back

Back around 2008-2009 I was working a job that was 23 miles and about 45 minutes from home and gas prices were up around $4 a gallon in my area. I had a Ford F-150 4wd getting about 12-13 mpg on a good day and decided that cold out or not I was going to start riding to work. My Yamaha FJ-1100 could pull 42-45mpg regularly and I figured the money savings on fuel alone was like getting a $1.00 per hour raise. The only time I didn't ride to work was absolute pouring down rain or snow in the forecast. Coworkers were kind of baffled why I was riding every single day like I was. Explained the money savings in the terms I listed, it's like getting a raise with the money saved. Shortly after more of them started riding to work more often.

just a couple of things tbh
Life became sadly life so we took a break from riding until we were both good... I'd say we are getting there but we are better and she wanted to ride into work today.

Commuting, I couldn't wait to commute to work or home before retirement. I enjoyed my job but my excitement every morning was the commute that I did by bicycle or motorcycle. I raced bicycles back in the day so the mountain commute was a way to stay in shape. It was all two lane twisty mountain roads.

My favorite section was a 2 lane Redwood lined section with never any traffic that was about 4 miles long with almost 100 changes of directions. Not one straight section on that 4 mile section.

The commute was mostly climbing up into the Santa Cuz Mountains on the way to work and a fast lazy drop back down to the coast for my ride home when I was worn out at the end of the work day.

lol. I meant which of the San Juan islands might be best for riding motos. Orcas, San Juan, Lopez? And yeah, we'd do the Anacortes Ferry.

I would do San Juan, you'd have Friday and Roche harbors to stop and grab an ice cream cone in or something. All the islands have pretty low speed limits, so be prepared for lots of toddling around.

You could also do something like Hwy 9 up to Sedro, 20 out to Anacortes area, then 20 down through Whidbey Island and pop back over on the mukilteo ferry. Deception pass is pretty cool if you haven't been there before.

Originally thought about trailering up to Anacortes and just hitting the ferry up with the bikes, but that might be a decent way to do it via 9 to sedro and then cut across to Anacortes. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've lived here my entire life... and never been to Deception Pass. I really need to do that. I've been wanting to camp there at the state park... maybe once the truck is fixed we can haul the bikes up there and camp and checkout Whidbey.

Two tires with tubeless valve stems have been ordered. And two pairs of pants, one or both will be returned depending on quality and how they fit.
I have a terrible habit of ordering fun shit just before a holiday weekend. Maybe it will all be here next week.
Ima gonna go flop the bike in the front yard and practice picking it up. :muscleflexing:

Did both sides, no problem, newly sewn insides didn't split thru and stayed put. Wondering if I can pick up a T-7...

Just ordered a pair of Tech 7 Enduro boots. Watching Adam Riemann videos (and advice from you guys) has prompted me to up my game before I hurt myself.
After almost eating it last weekend in the ruts, and feeling my feets get caught up in that crap and tossed back into the rear wheel, it's time to get serious with new tires coming and gonna be likely pushing my limits to get better. If I can walk away from a wipeout, I'll be proud of any bike damage that occurs.

Hmm... where did those bolts go...

    Those look a tad loose...

    Oh, there's a couple!

    And... um... here's one?

6 of 10 ring gear bolts completely backed out. Found 5, one must be the pile on the drain pan. Couple more you can see are backed out a good amount...

Minnesota gets lane splitting and filtering today, very jealous. I'd give my right nut for just filtering.

Weird? They were just copied from another thread. They show up OK on my work PC and on my Phone when I just logged in??

    Can anyone else see them?

EDIT: Shows up fine on Chrome and on my Android Phone, but does not appear on my Edge Browser.
