(Engine Trashed?) Thread of Unfortunate Events

Cylinder block is just that, the block alone. The short block additionally has the crank, rods, and pistons…. A much better deal, needless to say.

 

so, I canceled my block order because there was a July 4th discount and re purchased it for 2600$, purchased a gasket overhaul kit for 200$ (includes head gaskets), also purchased new idlers and pulleys. I spoke with one of the service techs and they gave me a software to buy that has all the installation procedures. I feel like I hit the jackpot with this guide. Its everything I need to completely rebuild the engine! It was only 15$/month. Its called Alldata diy. I'm going through all the rebuild procedures and making sure I have everything I need to complete the rebuild. I'm excited to build this thing!

 

Looks like delivery of the block is July 8th. I'm thinking about getting an insta 360 camera and filming the whole rebuild in detail following the toyota procedures. Would people be interested in that?

 

Good ol Alldata. I worked at a shop in the 90's that used that. They would send us a tower of CD's that would self destruct every 90 days so they claimed. A lot of independent shops and municipalities use this still. Good luck.

Haha I’ve been on this thread entirely too long but I had to see how it ended. I am so invested now that I have to see the videos.
