I just bought a 2011 Tacoma TRD sport. The truck comes with 17 aluminum wheels and 265-65-17 tires. Can i replace these rims with revolvers and use the stock tires. I didn't know if there were any offset or spacing issues to deal with.

Yes you will be fine as long as the rims you get have between 4.5-5.5" backspacing

My local wheel dealer is telling me they will stick out about 2-1/2" because the truck isn't lifted, does this make sense? I can get them in a 17 X 9/ 6X5.5 with 12mm offset and 4.53 back space. 'm not sure what the stock 17 wheels are.

The lift doesn't affect how mug they stick out. The stock 17s are 7.5" wide and 5.5" backspace. Since the new ones are 4.5" backspaced and 9" wide, the dealer is correct, they will stick out 2.5" more than stock.
